Big enough to fit all of mine and the new babies essentials in! We got our Mommy bag from Five Little Ducks. There’s 10% off online from Five Little Ducks with code Carey10. What Do Kings College Hospital Provide?

We’ve chosen to give birth at Kings College hospital for so many reasons… Click here to see why!

They provide so much for both Mother and Baby at the hospital including the following:

  • Nappies
  • Wipes
  • Nipple Cream
  • Nipple Shields
  • Breast Pads
  • Sanitary Pads
  • Gown
  • Slippers
  • Toiletries for mother & baby
  • Formula if needed (in ready made sterilised bottles)

What’s in my Bag?

So here’s a run down of what’s in my hospital bag, I know that some of these are provided by the hospital but I’m taking my own brands which I like.

  • Nappies – We use Rascal & Friends. They’re available from Five Little Ducks.
  • Cotton pads – I prefer to use these over wipes to start with.
  • Baby clothes (3-4 sets of vests, grows, hats & mittens)
  • Going home outfit
  • Muslins / burping cloths
  • Swaddles
  • Blankets
  • Snuggle toy
  • Camera
  • Phone/iPad/watch/headphones/chargers
  • Hair bands
  • Hair brush
  • Makeup – concealer, dry shampoo.
  • Lip balm
  • Toiletries – toothbrush, toothpaste, shower gel, deodorant, face wipes.
  • Highwaisted big knickers
  • Highwaisted leggings & tops.
  • Flip flops
  • Night dress/Tee
  • PJs
  • Nursing bra, tank top/comfy wireless bra
  • Sanitary towels
  • Gifts from the baby for Mason and Ellis
  • Snacks
  • Documents for birth registration/insurance and payment.
  • Car seat (this doesn’t need to come with you when you first go in… it’s just something to prepare and get your partner/friends/family to bring with them when you and the baby are ready to head home)

Don’t Worry

Don’t worry if you forget something… You can always order it in or someone can go fetch it. Along as you and the baby are ok that’s all that matters… The bits & bobs in your bag are secondary! You definitely don’t need scented candles and diffusers etc unless you’re planning on moving in to the hospital. Which to be honest I’d be quite tempted at Kings hospital because it’s like a hotel!
